Some experiences leave a mark on you as an artist, transforming the way you see your craft and deepen your connection to it. For me, this shoot was just that. It was one of those magical evenings that reminded me why I fell in love with photography in the first place.

A Perfect Evening in Washoe Valley

Washoe Valley, with its vast open landscapes and dramatic skies, has always been a favorite. But this particular evening was different. The light was perfect, casting a golden hue over everything when the clouds parted, and the air had that crispness that only comes just before sunset. Those summer nights that feel like fall might be coming soon.

Ticia and Justus brought a special energy to the shoot. From the moment we started, it was clear that this wasn’t going to be a typical session. There was an effortless connection between us, a shared understanding that allowed the shoot to unfold naturally.

We laughed our asses off during this photoshoot and had the absolute best time. We really did not take anything too seriously and just had fun with it. Yet we captured some gems where they look like actual models. I was shook.

One of the things that made this shoot so memorable was how free it felt.

There was no rigid plan or shot list to follow. Instead, we allowed the evening to guide us. We played with different ideas, and let our creativity flow.

This shoot in Washoe Valley was more than just a good time; it was a moment of growth for me as an artist. It was a moment of connection for T & J. It reminded me of the importance of staying open to the unexpected and the value of genuine connection. It was an experience that reaffirmed my love for photography and deepened my understanding of what it means to create.
