I can’t believe I finally get to share this beautiful Donner Lake elopement!!! It was such a special secret for so long. My sweet and beautiful friend Lora and her fiance Bennett decided to elope at Donner Lake. And let me tell you, it was a perfect day. Their main priority? Their dogs, obviously. They wanted to make sure they could include them in their special day, so we picked a secluded spot that was totally dog-friendly, but with a bit of a hike to get there. Honestly, that hike ended up being one of the best parts – just walking with the dogs, taking in the views, laughing over inside jokes, and carrying everything we needed for the ceremony.
My husband (Peter Paul Films) had the honor of officiating, and he also made the cutest Super 8 film to capture all the magic. I’ve been there from the start of Lora and Bennett’s journey together. I remember during the pandemic when she first went on that Hinge date with him – it’s wild to see how far they’ve come. Over the years, we’ve been on camping trips, celebrated milestones, and shared so many memories, but this elopement? Hands down, my favorite memory with these two.
After the ceremony and sunset photos, we didn’t let the fun end. We all sat in the parking lot, eating the homemade cake Lora baked earlier that day. No plates? No problem. We just dug right in, sharing cake and sipping champagne from the bottle. It was one of those moments that felt so real, so unplanned, and so perfect. Honestly, it was priceless and I wish I could relive it over and over again. Best best best core mems of all time!!!
