Not many jobs gift you lifelong friends from clients, but my job is just a little more special than that. So lifelong friends is exactly what I got out of these two! I actually met Erin first at our gym, F45 in Reno, and instantly knew she was someone I wanted in my life. She’s as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside, and one of those humans that cares about her people more than anything.
When I met Darrin, he exceeded all expectations. The perfect other half to Erin. At their wedding, his mom said how he has always been the sweetest, kindest, most gentle soul… and nothing describes him better – truly one of the most genuine people I’ve ever met.
One of the things I love about photographing weddings is when I capture couples who just want to have the best night of their lives without all of the old fashion shit. Just because something is “traditionally done at a wedding” doesn’t mean that you have to do that on your wedding day.
These two came along and I immediately knew that they truly valued their friends, family, adventure, and enjoying the heck out of this life. Their Lake Tahoe wedding perfectly encapsulated just that.
Fastforward to their May spring wedding… and Tahoe decided to snow!
Erin & Darrin love the outdoors and wanted to get married outside. They went to their venue for several weeks in advance to shovel snow so they could have an outdoor ceremony without snow, but despite all of those efforts, the outdoor area of the venue wasn’t suitable for a wedding. So we improvised 😉
We headed down the road of their Lake Tahoe wedding venue and walked through the forest at Galena Creek for their first look. Being outdoors was super important to them, so it felt appropriate that we did everything in the quiet forest – just them + their personal vows + lots of tears. It was perfect.
After their emotional first look, we celebrated the heck out of their love and every second of it was just beautiful. The tequila shots flowed and we danced our booties off!
I’m so thankful these two came into my life. I love them with my whole damn heart and cannot wait to make more memories with them over the years!
