Shannon & Luke’s Lake Tahoe Engagement adventure was full of breathtaking views, endless laughs, and a hazy summer sunset lit by vintage lanterns.
My husband, Peter, and I had the incredible honor of capturing Shannon & Luke’s engagement session. If you don’t know, I’m married to a kick-ass videographer! Peter filmed the cutest video of the day and I 12/10 recommend watching it. Watch their engagement film here!
Now let’s talk about how this day went down —
Shannon & Luke chose Lake Tahoe for their engagement session because Tahoe was an integral part of their love story from the start. Luke actually popped the question in Tahoe, but the couple also had one of their first dates at Sand Harbor. How freaking special is that?
We started out the session hiking to a lookout spot to take in all the epic views above the lake. We felt like kids running around the forest and balancing on the huge rocks. From there we went to one of my all-time favorite spots on the lake for sunset and enjoyed every last second of light. It was literally a perfect day with perfect weather and perfect humans. It doesn’t get much better than that!
These two are tying the knot at Black Oak Golf Course in Auburn, California next year, and their engagement shoot made me even more excited for their wedding!
One of the main reasons my husband and I add complimentary engagement shoots to all of our wedding packages *wink wink* is to get to know all of our couples better before their big day. We get to chat, laugh, and enjoy each other. The pretty photos are truly just a bonus to all of that!
So… all of that to say…
If you come to me with the hopes and dreams of creating the most magical engagement photos, be prepared for lots of adventure added in, and leaving as new friends.
My heart is so full whenever I get to capture love and get creative. Damn, I can’t believe this is my job.
